Horta

Handmade in Northern Italy, this candleholder is crafted at Atelier Martini, where the tradition of artistic hand-forged iron remains alive, shaped through slow, deliberate gestures.

From the moment the chandelier was conceived, its relationship with melting wax was central to its design: the act of dripping—often dismissed as an accident rather than embraced as an essential quality of the object—has instead determined its final form.

Wax is guided and allowed to follow its natural course between parallel iron plates. As the flame burns and consumes itself, the design evolves over time, revealing an ever-changing appearance to the observer. Like a theatre, Horta exists to stage the slow, ephemeral choreography of melting wax.
